Human Resources Generalist
Job Description
The HR Generalist will support day-to-day human resources operations across multiple entities, partnering with the Vice President of HR on employee relations, leave administration, workers’ compensation, compliance tracking, engagement initiatives, and training in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
Responsibilities
- Address employee relations matters, including workplace concerns, policy violations, and investigations
- Lead intake conversations, document findings, maintain investigation files, and support follow-up actions
- Collaborate with management and HR leadership to ensure consistent application of policies and procedures
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive employee matters
- Assist with administration and tracking of leaves of absence, including FMLA, PFL, disability, and reasonable accommodation requests
- Coordinate documentation and maintain accurate leave records
- Monitor compliance with federal, New York State, and NYC employment laws
- Coordinate and maintain workers’ compensation claims and related documentation across multiple entities
- Ensure workers’ compensation and New York State disability insurance policies remain active and compliant
- Liaise with brokers, carriers, payroll, and operations teams regarding claims, renewals, audits, and employee documentation
- Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, company events, and HR communications
- Assist training and development initiatives, including onboarding, orientations, compliance trainings, and manager development programs
- Coordinate company-wide events and employee appreciation activities
- Maintain employee records and HR documentation
- Assist with onboarding, offboarding, policy acknowledgments, and HR reporting
- Support various HR projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned
- Travel to company properties and sites as needed
- Support career development initiatives and internal growth opportunities
- Assist in building learning pathways for key roles
- Contribute to employee engagement through development-focused programs
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Minimum five years of HR experience
- Experience handling employee relations matters and/or workplace investigations
- Knowledge of leave administration, workers’ compensation, and employment law compliance
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Salary
USD 80,000 - 90,000 per year
