Human Resources Generalist
Job Description
The HR Generalist provides wide ranging human resources support in a Davis, California-based, hybrid work environment. The role focuses on benefits, performance management, employee relations, HR compliance, and culture, and manages onboarding, surveys, HR systems, and internal communications after the initial onboarding period.
Responsibilities
- Contributes to the design, implementation, and ongoing upkeep of HR programs that enhance the employee experience, covering benefits, compensation, engagement, development, performance management, recognition, retention, systems management, and training.
- Manages onboarding for new hires and oversees offboarding procedures for departing staff.
- Leads the creation, distribution, and analysis of surveys across the employee lifecycle to drive HR process improvements.
- Maintains current knowledge of trends, best practices, and regulatory developments in HR, talent management, and employment law to ensure policy compliance at federal, state, and local levels.
- Administers HR systems, including maintenance, data integrity, reporting, module creation, and process enhancements to support efficient HR operations.
- Prepares and delivers HR communications and maintains the HR pages on the company intranet.
- Serves as a primary contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and workplace issues.
- Supports training and professional development initiatives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of five years of related human resources experience
- Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail
- Proven effectiveness in written and verbal communication
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, HR information systems, and accounting software

Location and Hybrid Work Arrangement
Location: Davis, California. After an initial two-month in-office onboarding period, the role is eligible for a hybrid schedule requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office, with up to two days per week available for remote work.
