Human Resources Generalist
Job Description
ECC Corrosion, Inc. seeks a hands-on Human Resources Generalist to manage daily HR tasks on site in Wisconsin Rapids, WI.
Responsibilities
- Provide guidance to managers and employees on federal, state, and local employment laws, helping ensure compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Post vacancies, screen applicants, coordinate interviews, and guide new hires through onboarding processes.
- Process employment and benefits enrollment applications; complete new-hire paperwork for withholding, direct deposit, and employment authorization.
- Assist in administering and maintaining the company benefits programs; advise employees on eligibility, coverage, and plan provisions.
- Maintain personnel files, attendance records, worker compensation data, and benefits documentation.
- Offer administrative support and HR policy coaching, help resolve workplace conflicts, and support performance review cycles.
- Verify unemployment insurance claims, correspond with unemployment agencies, and refer exceptions to the appropriate manager for action.
- Support payroll administration using the company payroll system in compliance with applicable laws, collective bargaining arrangements, and company policies.
- Provide receptionist coverage as needed during breaks, vacations, and other absences.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate degree and at least three years of experience as an HR generalist.
- Experience with Sage 100 accounting and payroll software is a plus.
- Spanish language skills are a plus.
- Familiarity with standard HR concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Ability to maintain the confidential nature of HR work and records.
- Strong tact and professional demeanor in all interactions.
- Above-average communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both employees and managers.
- Ability to project a positive, professional image to applicants and staff.
- Sound judgment and the ability to plan and execute duties and goals.
- Comfort with handling a variety of complex tasks.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and word processing software.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
