Human Resources Manager
Job Description
Onsite Human Resources Manager role in Klamath, CA supporting an agriculture organization, with responsibility for day-to-day HR operations and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day HR operations and supervise HR staff.
- Manage recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, training, development, and offboarding.
- Advise managers and employees on HR policies, workplace issues, and employment practices.
- Ensure compliance with federal and California employment laws and Cal/OSHA requirements.
- Oversee payroll, benefits, leave management, HRIS, employee records, and compensation programs.
- Manage workers’ compensation and return-to-work programs.
- Lead workplace investigations, safety initiatives, and employee training.
- Develop and improve HR policies, procedures, and systems.
- Support employee engagement, retention, communication, and organizational effectiveness.
Requirements
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including 3+ years in HR leadership.
- Experience supporting a large workforce or multi-site organization.
- Strong knowledge of employee relations, employment law, recruiting, compensation, benefits, and performance management.
- Hands-on experience with payroll and HRIS.
- Experience with OSHA/Cal-OSHA, workers’ compensation, and workplace safety.
- Agriculture, food manufacturing, production, or similar industry experience preferred.
- English/Spanish bilingual skills highly preferred (Spanish preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred.
- SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR, SPHR-CA, or similar certification preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
