Job Description

Short Partners LLC in Janesville, Wisconsin is seeking an experienced Human Resources Representative to serve as a strategic partner across HR functions. This onsite role leads core HR processes such as talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and compensation and benefits administration while collaborating with leaders to boost organizational effectiveness and workforce planning.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with company leaders to align people strategies with operational and business priorities.
  • Support organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, and capability development.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leaders on employee relations, performance, engagement, organizational health, and change management.
  • Drive initiatives that strengthen culture, accountability, clear communication, and execution excellence.
  • Lead recruiting and staffing efforts for plant and professional roles.
  • Develop recruiting strategies to support growth, ensure workforce availability, and address critical skill needs.
  • Support onboarding programs and retention initiatives.
  • Lead and document employee relations investigations and corrective action processes.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to leaders on performance, conduct, and workplace concerns.
  • Ensure consistent and fair application of company policies and employment practices.
  • Support the execution of performance management processes, including goal setting and feedback conversations.
  • Coordinate leadership and employee training initiatives.
  • Help build manager capability in coaching, accountability, and communication.
  • Administer compensation programs and support the annual compensation review process.
  • Assist with benefits administration and respond to employee inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate HRIS data and reporting.
  • Keep up to date with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Administer the company’s Alcohol, Cannabis, and Drug Testing and Prevention Program.
  • Support unemployment claims, hearings, and related documentation.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
  • 5 to 8 years of progressive human resources experience are required.

Experience

  • Human resources management: 6 years (Required)
  • Employment and labor law: 5 years (Required)

Licenses / Certifications

  • Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification is preferred.

Pay

  • Salary: USD 60,000 - 80,000 per year
