Job Description

Samaritan Health Services is seeking a Human Resources Representative I to provide onsite HR operations support in Corvallis, OR. In this role, you will handle a broad range of administrative functions that support multiple HR areas, while helping ensure consistent, effective HR practices for employees, leaders, volunteers, candidates, and visitors.

This position focuses on policy interpretation, maintaining accurate records, and supporting protected leave and disability management. You will collaborate closely with teams across the HR organization to bring HR initiatives to life and deliver dependable service in everyday employee support matters.

Role overview

  • Provide administrative support for HR departments including Employee Relations, Employee Health, Compensation & Benefits, Talent Acquisition, and Learning and Development.
  • Specialize in policy interpretation, record maintenance, protected leave, and disability management, along with general employee support.
  • Work closely with all teams under the HR organization to help implement HR initiatives and support consistent practices.
  • Support SHS Human Resources while delivering exceptional service to employees, leaders, volunteers, candidates, and visitors.

Key qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate’s degree and/or certification in Human resources preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in a professional office environment with a customer service focus required.
  • Experience in Human Resources preferred.
  • Experience and/or training in Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Ability to interpret and apply human resources policies, procedures, and programs, including Federal/State employment laws, labor contracts, and employment agreements.
  • Commitment to confidentiality of employee and protected health information, with discretion when handling sensitive HR matters.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to tactfully discuss issues, present information in group settings, and understand complex situations.
  • Ability to work with all levels within the organization, facilitate communication, and effectively document related activities.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and data management tools.
  • Ability to identify complex problems, analyze related information, use creativity and alternative thinking to develop and evaluate options, build consensus, and implement effective solutions.
  • Skilled in information gathering and critical thinking.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems, including word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and office procedures and terminology.

  • Location: Corvallis, OR (onsite)
  • Pay: USD 23 - 34 per hour
