Job Description

The Recruiting Specialist at Prairie Field Services in Casper, WY (onsite) designs and runs full cycle recruiting to support hiring across multiple disciplines and regions. The role also contributes to marketing efforts through social media and company advertising while maintaining hiring compliance and HR standards.

Full Cycle Recruiting

  • Own full cycle recruiting activities, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, salary negotiations, background checks, and DOT pre-employment requirements.
  • Use expert knowledge of company operations, hiring needs, open positions, available equipment, and compensation packages to guide candidates through the application process.
  • Screen applicants, interview qualified candidates, manage MVR processing, and ensure DOT and internal hiring standards are followed.
  • Present qualified candidates to hiring managers, recommend selections for hire, and deliver employment offers for exempt and non-exempt roles.
  • Provide timely, professional communication to candidates throughout the process, including updates related to benefits, compensation, job expectations, and DOT requirements.

Recruiting Operations and Forecasting

  • Partner with hiring managers to determine staffing needs and assist with drafting and refining job descriptions.
  • Develop staffing forecast dashboards and share comparative results against projections, accounting for workforce needs during peak and slow periods.
  • Maintain, analyze, and report recruiting metrics, including weekly progress updates for leadership.
  • Manage candidate pipelines using the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and ensure ongoing data integrity.

Compliance and HR Recordkeeping

  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state employment laws and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records within the HRIS system and applicable personnel files.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.

Social Media and Talent Marketing

  • Manage company social media platforms, including Facebook and LinkedIn, and support content creation to improve brand awareness and engagement.
  • Use traditional and innovative recruiting approaches such as career fairs, online job events, networking opportunities, and social media to attract qualified talent.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of recruiting experience preferred.
  • 1+ year of marketing and/or social media management experience preferred.
  • DOT hiring experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in trucking, oil & gas, or manufacturing industries preferred.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Skilled in social networking and internet sourcing strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
