Senior Human Resources Generalist
Job Description
Senior Human Resources Generalist role with operational and transactional HR responsibilities for departments within the Community Services Cluster in Houston.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational and transactional HR support to assigned departments, ensuring HR requests and personnel actions are processed accurately and timely.
- Prepare, review, and process personnel actions in HR One SuccessFactors – Employee Central (EC) including new hires, transfers, promotions, organizational changes, and other employee actions.
- Create and maintain Organizational Management (OM) activities such as position creation, organizational structure changes, reporting relationship updates, and other position-related changes.
- Review personnel actions and supporting documents for accuracy and completeness, flagging discrepancies, missing details, or items that may delay processing.
- Maintain and monitor HR tracking logs, reports, pending actions, and effective dates to support timely follow-up and completion.
- Coordinate with the Client Relations Manager, Talent Acquisition, Shared Services, departments, and other HR functional areas to move HR requests from initiation through completion.
- Serve as a resource to department representatives by providing status updates, communicating outstanding requirements, and answering routine operational and transactional HR questions.
- Conduct HR research and review employee, position, organizational, and personnel data to identify discrepancies and support resolution of HR-related issues.
- Support reconciliation and data-cleanup by verifying employee, position, organizational, funding, and reporting information, and coordinating corrections.
- Coordinate personnel record requests, retention, filing, and archiving in line with established records management requirements.
- Assist with workforce and position management activities, including organizational reviews, position research, and reporting changes.
- Prepare and maintain HR reports, metrics, status updates, and tracking materials to identify trends, approaching deadlines, processing delays, and escalation items.
- Identify complex, delayed, or cross-functional matters and coordinate with the Client Relations Manager or the appropriate HR functional area for resolution.
- Assist with development and updates to HR policies, standard operating procedures, process documentation, job aids, templates, and tracking tools.
- Support cluster-wide HR initiatives and special projects by researching, gathering and analyzing information, preparing documentation, monitoring deliverables, and coordinating with stakeholders.
- Interpret and apply established HR policies, procedures, guidelines, and applicable federal, state, and local laws to promote consistent HR practices.
- May provide support to other HR functional areas, including Temporary Services, based on operational needs and workload demands.
- Perform other duties as assigned and participate in special projects supporting the Community Services Cluster.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Science, Liberal Arts, or a related field.
- 3 years of related professional experience in human resources.
- Pertinent professional-level experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.

Preferences
- Preferred candidate demonstrates leadership potential and is customer-focused with excellent problem-solving, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong presentation skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP are preferred.
