Interim HealthCare is seeking an HR Manager to support its Pittsburgh, PA office on the northeast side. This is an on-site role focused on day-to-day human resources needs for the local branch, with local travel at least once a week to other Pittsburgh locations as required. Working under the guidance of the Regional HR Director, you will perform tactical HR duties across recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and compliance.
Role Overview
In this position, you will act as an HR point of contact for employees and leaders, helping translate business priorities into HR guidance and ensuring the assigned locations maintain strong employment law compliance. You will also support Interim HealthCare’s culture and values, including engagement initiatives that help create a productive, open environment where employees feel comfortable raising concerns.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the local branch office by understanding business priorities and objectives, and providing guidance to employees and leaders on HR issues.
- Serve as a point of contact for day-to-day HR matters.
- Monitor and help ensure location compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and recommended best practices.
- Champion Interim HealthCare culture and values; promote employee engagement and manage engagement initiatives.
- Support recruitment efforts for assigned location(s), including interviewing and/or coordination for hiring, and actively participate to ensure successful onboarding.
- Maintain employment files and conduct routine audits to support regulatory survey readiness and record keeping, including regional compliance with licensure, certification, education, and other position requirements.
- Implement, interpret, and administer established HR policies and programs for assigned location(s), including researching policy-based questions and coordinating with enterprise HR as appropriate.
- Partner with the Regional Director of HRE and local leaders to interpret, escalate, and develop solutions for complex employee experience, retention, and employee relations issues.
- Coordinate employee corrective action and termination documentation and processing; prepare responses for unemployment compensation (UC) questionnaires; may represent location(s) in UC hearings; conduct exit interviews as needed.
- Travel to other regional locations as necessary to support initiatives or address employee concerns and issues.
- Complete additional assignments as requested and assigned.
- Drive actions aligned with Interim HealthCare’s mission, vision, core values, business objectives, and the People, Retention and Culture strategy within the assigned region.
- Perform a wide variety of tactical HR duties supporting recruitment, onboarding, compensation and benefits administration, performance management, employee relations, HRIS systems, and safety and compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or another HR-related field (or equivalent experience), required.
- HRCI or SHRM certification preferred.
- 3+ years of progressive HR experience; HR experience in healthcare is a plus.
- 2+ years of experience in Employee, Labor, or Industrial Relations is highly preferred.
- Excellent computer proficiency, especially Microsoft Office Suite, and experience with relevant systems; familiarity with ADP Workforce Now preferred.
