The Human Resource Coordinator role is an in-office, full-time position based in Monterey, CA, supporting HR functions from talent acquisition to benefits and compliance. Reporting to the Manager, HR & Training, this role requires handling confidential information with discretion.

Monterey, California (onsite).
Compensation
Hourly pay range: USD 28.00 - 31.00 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS, monitor leaves and accommodations, and manage HR documentation.
- Protect the integrity and confidentiality of personnel files and records.
- Conduct audits to ensure required documents are collected and filed as directed by the Manager.
- Provide clerical support to the HR department.
- Support new hire orientation and onboarding processes.
- Assist with benefits administration, including health, retirement, and wellness programs; serve as a contact for benefits inquiries.
- Assist with benefits enrollment events, meetings, and employee recognition activities.
- Act as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws; maintain records and assist with audits.
- Generate HR metrics and turnover reports to support data-driven decisions, as directed by the Manager.
- Maintain and improve HR processes in coordination with the HR team.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in HR or related administrative roles.
- Solid understanding of California labor laws, including meal and rest break regulations, sick leave, wage and hour laws, and other state employment regulations.
- Familiarity with HR software and systems such as HRIS and timekeeping systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities.
- Legible handwriting and accurate recordkeeping.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Ability to quickly learn the organization’s HR management system and adapt to changing priorities.
- Demonstrates honesty, transparency, fairness, and accountability; can work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective collaboration with colleagues from diverse backgrounds; demonstrates empathy in sensitive situations.
- Strong numerical literacy and ability to perform basic arithmetic.
- Ability to read and comprehend written documentation; willingness to learn new skills and technologies.
- Valid California driver’s license and proof of minimum insurance may be required; position may involve visiting other clinics regionally.
