Human Resources & Payroll Manager
Job Description
Transdev is seeking a Payroll and Human Resources Manager based in Monterey, CA to support the General Manager with day-to-day payroll and HR operations. This role is 100% on-site.
Role Overview
The Human Resources & Payroll Manager assists with core HR administrative duties, full-cycle recruiting support, and payroll-related tasks for drivers and staff. The position also supports compliance processes, employee onboarding documentation, and tracking of leave and related obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Process new employee files and submit required paperwork for approval.
- Calculate and enter payroll for drivers and staff.
- Track attendance for part-time employees.
- Handle fare reconciliation and related deposits.
- Assist with monitoring and reducing overtime.
- Support full-cycle recruiting by reviewing applications, scheduling interviews, and helping move candidates through hiring.
- Create and maintain employee files and onboarding paperwork.
- Manage payroll administration along with leaves of absence and FMLA tracking.
- Provide employee education on available benefits.
- Ensure compliance with background checks, drug screens, and E-Verify.
- Support transfer requests and follow applicable procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of Human Resources experience.
- College coursework in a related field preferred.
- Computer-literate with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable.
- Understanding of DOT requirements: DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
