Job Description

At the Fort Worth Terminal, Continental Express Inc relies on a hands-on Driver Recruiter who also serves as Fleet Manager to keep the driver network robust and freight moving. This role focuses on sourcing qualified CDL-A drivers and coordinating fleet operations to ensure safe, on-time deliveries for Continental Express customers.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively build and maintain channels to attract new driver candidates
  • Aggressively advertise for and pursue driver talent
  • Maintain records of qualified candidates and nurture leads
  • Collaborate with the Social Media Coordinator to design advertising campaigns across multiple media formats
  • Manage the hiring process for new candidates
  • Handle inbound phone inquiries from interested applicants
  • Schedule interviews, physicals, drug screens, hotel stays, and related steps
  • Perform pre-employment background checks including MVR and DAC reports
  • Assist in onboarding newly hired drivers
  • Dispatch a fleet of professional drivers and work with operations to provide safe, on-time delivery of freight
  • Establish one-on-one relationships with drivers to sustain the team-oriented culture
  • Organize and assign productive drivers to efficient routes to meet deadlines
  • Analyze driver performance and safety, applying discipline when necessary
  • Communicate with customers electronically and by phone to schedule freight and provide updates
  • Enter, edit, and update information in the internal computer system

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication or a business-related field preferred
  • Ability to relate to and talk with drivers
  • Proficiency with Microsoft programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High degree of organization and time management
  • Working knowledge of human resources practices and principles
  • Familiarity with advertising across media channels (print, social, digital)
  • General knowledge of labor laws
