Human Resource Director

The Human Resource Director leads HR strategy and operations onsite in Harmony, Pennsylvania, guiding employment policy interpretation, dispute resolution, and personnel actions while overseeing compliance, staffing, and HR activities across Sysco sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Sysco Speaks Associate Survey program, analyze findings, review trends with senior management, and recommend actions to support constructive organizational changes.
• Interpret and administer federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies to ensure consistent compliance.
• Develop and maintain the site’s Affirmative Action Program where applicable; complete required EEO reporting and ensure EEOC compliance.
• Conduct investigations and prepare written responses to EEOC claims, unemployment claims, and similar matters.
• Collaborate with site leaders to create and maintain workforce staffing plans.
• Coordinate recruiting efforts with Sysco Business Services to hire competent, diverse, and skilled workers and to maintain workload levels that minimize turnover.
• Direct resources and activities to foster a culture of prevention, awareness, and accountability across the organization.
• Support the development of Health, Safety and Environmental plans to meet operational goals and reduce accidents, injuries, and incidents.
• Provide day-to-day direction and support to site HR staff, including proactive guidance, troubleshooting, and issue escalation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with a major in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of HR leadership and management experience in distribution or manufacturing environments; 10+ years preferred.
