Job Description
The Human Resource Generalist will support a broad range of HR activities for US Salt, including labor relations, policies and procedures, payroll, compensation, performance management, benefits, recruitment, employment law, workers' compensation, and employee engagement.
Responsibilities
- Assist in all HR matters for US Salt, including collaborating with the local union to administer and interpret contract language.
- Monitor, maintain, and coordinate personnel transactions in the HRIS (currently UKG).
- Serve as the benefits and retirement program liaison, providing guidance on policies, programs, and procedures for medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and the 401(k) plan.
- Act as payroll administrator using timekeeping clocks and UKG, administering both weekly and bi-weekly payrolls.
- Collaborate with the Safety department on workers' compensation claims, investigations, documentation, and administration.
- Support recruitment efforts, including advertising, interviewing, offers, career fairs, and onboarding.
- Assist in coordinating salary administration and performance management programs.
- Provide administrative tasks such as employee letters and correspondence, payroll reporting, employee investigations, and leaves of absence.
- Update and maintain company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and guidelines.
- Participate in employee engagement activities and company initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Business Administration or equivalent, with 2 years of related HR experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and a solid understanding of HRIS platforms.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple priorities and adapt to changing needs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Positive attitude toward progress through change, continuous improvement, and teamwork.

Salary
Salary range: $63,000.00 to $70,000.00 per year.
