Job Description

Walmart Supply Chain in Laurens, South Carolina, calls for an on-site Human Resource Manager who can lead the full spectrum of HR activities while aligning them with company policies and strategic goals. This role collaborates closely with site leadership to shape workforce plans, drive change, and act as a key liaison for associates and operations, supporting a culture that values people as a core asset.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the strategic HR partner to the Site General Manager, Assistant General Manager, and Senior Site Engineer to implement effective people practices.
  • Lead the People Team at the distribution center to deliver an exceptional associate experience.
  • Develop, communicate, and execute People strategies that support overall business objectives.
  • Support operations leadership in workforce planning, talent and succession planning discussions, development plans, and strategies to build a robust leadership pipeline.
  • Guide leadership through change management with clear communication, understanding, support, and follow-up.
  • Champion the adoption of new people digital tools in line with a tech-driven, people-led mission.
  • Monitor policy changes, management guidelines, and employment laws, ensuring timely communication and effective change management.
  • Analyze data and trends to identify opportunities to improve turnover, engagement, and compliance programs.
  • Foster a culture of belonging through regular associate listening sessions and collaboration with operations on Facility Engagement Action Plans.
  • Support operations with Associate Open-Door concerns, ensuring proper escalation and investigations per the Walmart Code of Conduct.
  • Oversee and ensure accurate execution of OSHA logs, Unemployment Claims, Tad Assignment Documentation, and State Forms completion.
  • Support the full management candidate hiring experience, partnering with Talent Acquisition for sourcing and screening, Workday requisition management, compensation reviews, and offers.
  • Assist operations leadership through organizational changes from an associate perspective, adhering to all applicable policies and procedures.
  • Influence strategic business decisions with a focus on supporting the business while recognizing associates and culture as top priorities.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in an HR Manager role, or a similar position.
  • Strong grounding in HR fundamentals.
  • Strategic thinker with transformational leadership capabilities.
  • Passion for people development with a proven track record of nurturing associates and leaders.
  • Bachelor's Degree in business or a related field with 2 years of HR Generalist experience (including payroll, workers' compensation, and benefits) and at least 1 year of supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing employees; managing workload; and participating in hiring and promotion processes, or 1 year of experience as a Walmart Logistics HR Area Manager or Walmart HR Office Manager with similar duties; or 3 years of experience supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing employees, including at least 1 year managing HR processes (staffing, payroll, workers' compensation, benefits).
  • Associates must complete all required trainings and assessments (for example, Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).
