Job Description
This role manages day-to-day HR operations in support of employee relations, compliance, and supervisory effectiveness onsite in Houston.
Responsibilities
- Provide operations management and supervisory staff with support and guidance on employee relations concerns
- Conduct investigations and support mediation efforts to help resolve issues and support a positive employee experience
- Serve as the primary contact for day-to-day conflict resolution and employee relations matters
- Act as an intermediary between the Regional HR Director and operational teams
- Ensure Federal & State Wage and Hour Compliance
- Function as the hands-on HR Manager for one or more operations
- Assist in resolving employee concerns to help address issues without escalation where possible
- Ensure operations comply with OSHA
- Support start-ups and facilitate new-hire onboarding activities
- Maintain accurate employee data in the Enterprise system
- Ensure compliance with Equus training standards
- Support achievement of Equus compliance goals and standards
- Coordinate responses for Federal / State Wage and Hour Audits by providing requested information
- Recruit and post job openings for assigned operations
- Conduct routine salary surveys for assigned operations
- Ensure HR training is completed for supervisors
- Assist supervisors with corrective action and performance improvement plan reviews
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in business management, human resources, psychology, or a related field; and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least 5 years of related experience and/or education and experience equivalent
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Outstanding communication skills (written and oral), with the ability to communicate professionally and positively with employees and all levels of management
- Knowledge of federal and state labor laws and regulatory compliance
- Fundamental understanding of computer processing, including word processing and spreadsheet applications
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) preferred
