Job Description

A DHA managed medical treatment facility HR role supporting the Command Military Awards program at NAS Jacksonville, FL, onsite in the Human Resources Department.

Responsibilities

  • Command Military Awards Program: administers the entire lifecycle of an award with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Maintains a comprehensive awards tracker, issuing suspense notifications to Directorates 90–120 days before a member transfers, retires, or is released from active duty.
  • Drafts grammatically correct correspondence, such as officer promotion letters, and handles the final disposition of awards by mailing documents to former members and submitting the official signed award and NAVPERS.
  • Electronic Correspondence Management: serves as the command's assistant manager for the electronic correspondence routing system, reporting to the HR Department Head as the command’s primary manager.
  • Special Pay: serves as the Primary Point of Contact (POC) for Officer Actions and Special Pays.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment; background investigation and credit check required.
  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Mandatory seasonal Influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal Influenza vaccinations unless exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
  • Telework may be authorized on a situational basis.
  • Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Reviewing documents for accuracy; AND/OR 2) Composing and routing correspondence; AND/OR 3) Reviewing financial documents; AND/OR 4) Providing customer service and support.
  • Education: A half year (9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Master of Business Administration; Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources Management; or Master of Science with a concentration in Human Resources Management.
  • Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.
