Amentum is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner with an active TS/SCI security clearance to join the on-site team in McLean, Virginia. In this role, you will serve as a trusted partner and advisor to leaders and employees, coordinating HR activities that align with contractual requirements and organizational objectives. You will collaborate across HR, security, and program management to support staffing, performance, compliance, and employee relations in a positive, compliant work environment.
Compensation
Salary: USD 90,000 - 110,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Act as the initial point of contact for employees and managers, handling routine HR tasks across staffing, compensation, leave, recognition and morale, training and development, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, and manager coaching.
- Facilitate communication between union representatives and management, serving as a liaison to ensure understanding and adherence to the union contract, mediating discussions, addressing concerns, and fostering constructive dialogue.
- Monitor compliance with labor agreement terms by collaborating with management and union officials to align workplace policies with the negotiated contract and proposing corrective actions as needed.
- Partner with recruiting to facilitate hiring, selection, and onboarding actions.
- Collaborate with security on employee relations issues, investigations, and other shared responsibilities.
- Monitor and track HR metrics for the assigned contract.
- Serve as a liaison between employees, leaders, and corporate departments including benefits and payroll.
- Work with Program Management to identify attrition trends and implement retention strategies.
- Provide proactive guidance to managers and employees on performance management, communications and training, employee relations issues, and interpretation of employment laws and company policies and procedures.
- Investigate employee complaints and allegations in accordance with company protocol.
- Support compliance efforts through policy communication, dissemination, and implementation of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Support program HR and HRIS activities, including validating HRIS data accuracy, org chart alignment, service contract pay rates, wage and benefits changes, leave information, and related data; identify and correct errors in collaboration with leaders.
- Respond to employment-related questions from applicants, employees, and supervisors, and follow up to close inquiries.
- Contribute to program and company initiatives, tracking and preparing reports for analysis, and recommending best practices to improve the employee and manager experience, including onboarding, training, and performance management.
- Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations, assisting with interviews, documentation, and reporting.
- Maintain awareness of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new HR technologies to drive change and continuous improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2 years of relevant HR experience.
- Must work onsite five days per week, eight hours per day.
- Proficiency with MS Office.
- Must be a US citizen and possess an active TS/SCI security clearance.
