Human Resources Business Partner
Job Description
Forvis Mazars is seeking an HR Business Partner to help connect HR strategy to the firm’s broader business priorities. In this onsite role in Iselin, NJ, you will advise leadership on people programs and help drive regional priorities through employee relations, performance processes, and consistent HR policy application.
What you’ll do
- Work with the Regional HRBP Lead and Managing Partner(s) to set HR strategy aligned with business strategy, regional needs, and goals.
- Ensure actionable, measurable plans are developed and implemented for the region, and monitor completion and effectiveness.
- Participate in firm leadership planning meetings to ensure the people implications of strategic decisions are considered and evaluated.
- Use metrics, trends, and industry knowledge to guide leaders and recommend or develop solutions across people-related programs and processes.
- Partner with and leverage internal HR resources to address regional needs effectively.
- Develop and implement change management and communication approaches that support employee engagement and information transparency.
- Advise management and employees on employee relations issues, identify trends, and help develop appropriate solutions.
- Respond to employee relations matters such as complaints and harassment allegations, and may represent management in investigating, answering, and settling complaints.
- Ensure employee relations processes align with the firm’s culture and reduce firm risk, including performance issues, disciplinary procedures, and participation in counsel out discussions.
- Review and stay current with exit interview data, analyze trends, and develop strategies with regional leaders to address recurring themes as needed.
- Coach and support managers to support successful application of the firm performance programs.
- Support partners and managers with staff coaching and development responsibilities.
- Oversee semi-annual Talent Review processes, including facilitation of succession and high potential identification discussions, plus appropriate follow-up with office, market, and regional leaders.
- Use key manager and staff metrics to support performance and succession discussions.
- Oversee completion and quality of leadership feedback surveys.
- Ensure HR policies and practices are applied consistently and appropriately, including facilitating implementation of new HR policies and procedures.
- Refer policy interpretation questions or concerns to the HR Service Center, and route general employee inquiries to the HR Service Center.
- Follow up with HR department staff as needed to ensure issue resolution.
- Maintain compliance with federal and state employment laws by ensuring proper handling of employment-related situations.
- Oversee the annual compensation and promotion process for the assigned office/market, including review of proposed changes for consistency and equity and consideration of employee performance, market data, and market conditions.
- Partner with the Total Rewards team to ensure clarity and consistency with pay and rewards practices.
- Maintain familiarity with and support all firm-wide benefits.
- If applicable, manage HR staff in the market to meet position requirements and established goals; coach and mentor other market HR staff using ongoing feedback through the Performance Enrichment Process and informal methods.
- Assist market HR staff with setting measurable goals and creating individual learning plans, and help identify internal succession for market HR staff to support career growth.
- Lead by example to maintain a team environment that fosters collaboration and continuous learning.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5+ years of relevant experience working in an HRBP capacity
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
