Job Description

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) partners with leaders and employees to support HR initiatives, processes, and employee relations within an assigned client group.

Responsibilities

  • Answer inquiries related to policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of company HR systems, including Workday.
  • Recruit, interview, test, and select salaried and hourly employees for the client group.
  • Lead new employee orientation to support a positive business unit experience.
  • Administer salary and hourly compensation programs to maintain compliance and internal equity.
  • Administer vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and other employee-related reports requested by management.
  • Prepare new hire and termination documentation and conduct exit interviews to identify termination reasons.
  • Represent the organization and employees in hearings and investigations related to employee and organizational matters.
  • Manage company-sponsored programs and events, including community outreach and service award banquets.
  • Coordinate client group training with the client group and HR management.
  • Perform additional duties and tasks as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations, Labor Relations, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • SHRM or HRCI certification preferred.
  • 3-7 years of progressive HR experience.
  • 2+ years in a generalist or functional HR role with exposure to:
    • compensation
    • performance management
    • training
    • labor relations

Physical Demands

  • Frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.

Work Environment

  • Noise level is usually moderate as work is typically based in an office.
  • Some work may be required in operating units, including use of required PPE (e.g., safety glasses, hearing protection).
  • May involve exposure to outside elements and may require use of stairs and elevators.
  • Travel, including occasional air travel or auto travel, may be required.
