Human Resources Generalist

Bridgeway is seeking an on-site Human Resources Generalist in Macomb, IL. The role offers an annual salary of $40,000 to $45,000 and requires an Associate’s degree in human resources or related field, or at least 2 years of HR experience. The position focuses on daily HR functions including hiring, benefits, leave management, and policy support, with a commitment to delivering timely, customer-centered HR assistance to employees and leaders.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with designated hiring managers to recruit for open positions, clarifying the skills and competencies required for each role
• Extend offers of employment and conduct background checks, regulatory agency checks, and employee eligibility verifications
• Maintain annual compliance checks and deliver new hire orientation sessions
• Support employee recognition programs and assist with compensation, benefits, and leave administration
• Address disciplinary matters and contribute to performance and talent management efforts
• Support productivity, recognition, culture initiatives, and occupational health and safety programs
• Assist in training development and respond to employment inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, escalating complex issues as needed
• Manage unemployment claims and leaves of absence; administer benefit claims and maintain related documentation
• Participate in disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations as required
• Ensure accuracy of payroll changes and benefit enrollments; organize and route payroll changes to the appropriate locations for processing
• Oversee exit procedures and ensure proper allocation of company assets
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license
• Associate’s degree in human resources or related field, or 2+ years of previous HR experience in lieu of degree (preferred)
• Employment with Bridgeway is conditional upon completion of all background checks
