Human Resources Generalist
Job Description
Bridgeway is seeking an on-site Human Resources Generalist in Macomb, IL. The role offers an annual salary of $40,000 to $45,000 and requires an Associate’s degree in human resources or related field, or at least 2 years of HR experience. The position focuses on daily HR functions including hiring, benefits, leave management, and policy support, with a commitment to delivering timely, customer-centered HR assistance to employees and leaders.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with designated hiring managers to recruit for open positions, clarifying the skills and competencies required for each role
- Extend offers of employment and conduct background checks, regulatory agency checks, and employee eligibility verifications
- Maintain annual compliance checks and deliver new hire orientation sessions
- Support employee recognition programs and assist with compensation, benefits, and leave administration
- Address disciplinary matters and contribute to performance and talent management efforts
- Support productivity, recognition, culture initiatives, and occupational health and safety programs
- Assist in training development and respond to employment inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, escalating complex issues as needed
- Manage unemployment claims and leaves of absence; administer benefit claims and maintain related documentation
- Participate in disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations as required
- Ensure accuracy of payroll changes and benefit enrollments; organize and route payroll changes to the appropriate locations for processing
- Oversee exit procedures and ensure proper allocation of company assets
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Associate’s degree in human resources or related field, or 2+ years of previous HR experience in lieu of degree (preferred)
- Employment with Bridgeway is conditional upon completion of all background checks
