Human Resources Generalist
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Forge strong partnerships with management to ensure HR strategies, processes, and practices are implemented effectively.
- Maintain optimal staffing levels across the unit to support operational success.
- Provide purposeful coaching and feedback to employees at all levels, addressing HR issues and business needs.
- Collaborate with employees and management to communicate HR policies, procedures, laws, standards, and government regulations.
- Conduct exit interviews, analyze engagement and turnover data, and make recommendations to the Regional HR Director.
- Provide HR support during events and non-event days as needed.
- Ensure compliance with applicable governmental and labor reporting requirements.
- Assist in preparing required documentation for compliance with state and federal laws.
- Lead employee relations activities, including investigations into policy and law violations and addressing general employee concerns.
- Support workers’ compensation claims processing, leaves of absence, and benefits administration.
- Facilitate new hire orientation and talent development materials and initiatives.
- Maintain active interest in venue-specific operational knowledge to deliver value as an HR business partner.
- Apply thoughtful judgment in HR-related business decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or a related business field.
- 3-5 years of progressive human resources experience.
- Extensive knowledge of federal and state labor law, including workers’ compensation, workplace safety, EEOC, NLRB, and FLSA.
- Strong computer skills with hands-on experience using HRIS and ATS systems.
- Comfortable presenting to small and large audiences.
- Ability to build meaningful interpersonal relationships across functions, industries, and local communities.
- Outstanding leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proven ability to influence and earn credibility with employees and internal and external customers.
- Excellent oral, written, and listening communication skills; strong prioritization and deadline execution.
- Commitment to delivering high levels of customer and client service, with demonstrated initiative and leadership.
- Flexibility to work extended hours, including late nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Comfort in a matrix leadership environment.
- 2+ years of people supervisory experience preferred but not required.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required.

The Role
The HR Generalist contributes to fulfilling Legends’ guest experience by handling daily HR administration and supporting full employee lifecycle processes. The role partners with the Human Resources Director on initiatives that boost employee engagement and business performance while cultivating Legends’ organizational culture. This position carries out general HR responsibilities across key functional areas.
Compensation
Salary: USD 35 - 40 per hour, commensurate with experience. A generous benefits package is included.
Working Conditions
Location: On site at Moscone Center, San Francisco, CA.
