Job Description

Chewy is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support its Plantation, FL office on an onsite basis. In this role, you will provide broad HR coverage across Corporate, Chewy Vet Care, and Customer Care, helping leaders and Team Members navigate day-to-day people issues, performance situations, and HR operations. The position also focuses on workplace fact-finding, workforce insights, and continuous improvement.

What you’ll do

  • Provide responsive, consistent HR guidance to Team Members and leaders across supported Corporate, Chewy Vet Care, and Customer Care organizations.
  • Interpret HR policies, practices, and employment standards, applying them effectively to routine and moderately complex scenarios.
  • Assess Team Member concerns by gathering relevant facts, identifying risk, and determining appropriate next steps or escalation paths.
  • Build trusted partnerships with leaders through practical guidance on day-to-day Team Member matters, conflict resolution, and people management practices.
  • Support specialized HR processes in partnership with the appropriate teams, including leave and accommodation, relocation, immigration, contingent workforce, licensing, and related needs.
  • Conduct structured intake conversations and workplace fact-finding, documenting information objectively and developing well-reasoned findings and recommendations.
  • Advise leaders on performance concerns, policy violations, and disciplinary actions, balancing policy, precedent, business context, and risk.
  • Coach leaders on how to address performance and workplace concerns.
  • Analyze Team Member data, feedback, and operational trends to identify patterns, workforce implications, and opportunities for proactive support.
  • Support talent and performance processes, including administrative support, facilitation of discussions, and documentation and follow-up with people leaders.
  • Develop and facilitate listening sessions and other engagement activities, synthesize themes, and support practical action planning.
  • Maintain accurate people reports and translate relevant trends into clear, actionable insights for HR partners and leaders.
  • Maintain data integrity across HR systems, ensuring case records, repositories, job aids, and standard operating procedures remain current and accurate.
  • Manage a high-volume workload using strong prioritization, responsiveness, attention to detail, and follow-through.
  • Identify root causes and improvement opportunities using data, stakeholder feedback, and operational observations.
  • Develop practical, scalable solutions that improve consistency, efficiency, and the Team Member experience, and clearly communicate recommendations.
  • Coordinate or facilitate training related to HR policies, processes, and tools.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of progressive core human resources experience.
  • Experience supporting Team Member relations, performance management, policy interpretation, and core HR processes.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with written and verbal communication strength and solid interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interpret workforce data, identify meaningful trends, and translate insights into clear recommendations.
  • Strong ownership, prioritization, and attention to detail, with comfort operating in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity and change.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive personal and business information.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
