Human Resources Generalist

As a Human Resources Generalist, you will report to the Finance & Business Operations Manager and partner with department leaders to strengthen talent acquisition, employee relations, training compliance, and employee experiences. This is a full-time, on-site position in Mount Dora, FL with a Monday to Friday schedule.
What You’ll Do
- Work with hiring managers to design structured recruitment workflows, including role scorecards, standard candidate criteria, and planned interview question guides.
- Manage end-to-end recruiting pipelines using Indeed, including coordinating interview stages.
- Handle background checks, employment verifications, and I-9 eligibility processing.
- Lead new hire orientation and onboarding programs, and support employee recognition initiatives.
- Administer performance management workflows, supporting leadership with official review cycles, scorecard tracking, and consistent 1:1 check-in cadence.
- Oversee bi-weekly payroll accurately within payroll software, maintain payroll records, and remit SIMPLE IRA retirement contributions.
- Manage day-to-day HRIS profile administration, security permissions, employee lifecycle data entry, and HR reporting.
- Administer employee health benefits, enrollment changes, leave requests, and compensation change processes.
- Track and document training compliance, including safety programs, anti-harassment, certifications, and aptitude assessments.
- Maintain strong working knowledge of federal, Florida, and local employment regulations to support full policy compliance.
- Handle employment inquiries, investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations with confidentiality, objectivity, and professionalism.
- Use Apple Mac OS, Slack, and Monday.com to support HR projects, cross-department communication, and internal workflows.
- Monitor workplace morale, productivity, and health & safety standards across the facility.
What You Bring
- 3+ years of hands-on HR management experience.
- Active SHRM-CP certification required.
- Experience with Rippling or similar HRIS and payroll software systems.
- Proficiency with Apple Mac OS, Slack, and Monday.com (or similar project management platforms).
- Advanced skills with spreadsheet data analytics and word processing.
- Proven ability to structure recruitment frameworks and guide hiring managers through hiring steps.
- Thorough knowledge of Florida and federal employment law.
- Strong conflict resolution, negotiation, project management, and analytical skills.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.

Salary: $26 - $29 per hour (depending on experience and expertise on key functions).
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (8-hour shift).
Location: Mount Dora, FL 32757 (in person, no remote).
Physical requirements: prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer; ability to lift 15 pounds at times.
