Job Description
United Disabilities Services is seeking a Human Resources Generalist – Talent Acquisition and Employee Services to lead recruiting while supporting employee relations, HR operations, and organizational initiatives. This hybrid role in Lancaster, PA blends hands-on talent acquisition with critical employee services to support a mission-driven workforce.
Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end recruitment for a range of roles, including professional, administrative, clinical, and direct support positions.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to determine staffing needs and design effective recruitment strategies.
- Draft and publish job advertisements across multiple platforms.
- Leverage the organization's Applicant Tracking System to manage postings, candidate communications, interview scheduling, hiring workflows, and recruitment reporting.
- Source, screen, and assess candidates.
- Coordinate interviews and maintain ongoing candidate communications throughout the hiring process.
- Perform reference checks, background screenings, and pre-employment steps.
- Track recruiting metrics and propose strategies to optimize hiring outcomes.
- Develop and sustain candidate pipelines for hard-to-fill and high-volume roles.
- Represent the organization at job fairs, networking events, and community outreach activities to promote openings.
- Assist with onboarding activities to ensure a positive new-hire experience.
- Address employee relations by coaching managers, resolving workplace concerns, facilitating discussions, and recommending appropriate resolutions.
- Apply HR policies, procedures, and employment practices consistently across the organization.
- Administer performance management processes, including reviews, goal setting, corrective action, and development initiatives.
- Lead engagement and retention efforts by identifying trends, proposing solutions, and implementing workforce initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct workplace investigations and prepare documentation, findings, and recommendations.
- Assist in developing, updating, and communicating HR policies, procedures, and employee communications.
- Support employee healthcare and welfare benefit programs, including enrollments, qualifying life events, open enrollment activities, and employee inquiries as needed.
Requirements
- Five or more years of Human Resources Generalist experience; SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
- Proven experience in full-cycle recruitment and talent acquisition.
- Experience utilizing Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and recruitment technologies.
- Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices.
- Familiarity with employee benefits and leave administration processes, including FMLA and leave of absence programs.
