Job Description

Located onsite in Machias, NY, the Human Resources Manager oversees payroll, benefits, compliance, onboarding, and general office operations for Legacy Hauling LLC. This role supports HR activities across four entities and ensures regulatory adherence within the trucking and logistics operations.

Responsibilities

  • Verify weekly time and mileage submissions for accuracy prior to payroll processing
  • Manage payroll for roughly 100 employees across four entities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Maintain payroll records and generate reports to support annual reviews and provide management with clear insights into labor costs
  • Administer employee benefits, including health insurance and retirement enrollments, deductions, and annual renewals
  • Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring all required documentation is complete, accurate, and properly maintained
  • Maintain compliance with HR policies, procedures, and documentation, including employee handbook requirements, safety programs, and harassment prevention policies
  • Coordinate and monitor required compliance trainings such as MSHA, OSHA, DOT, and sexual harassment prevention to meet all requirements
  • Ensure compliance with New York State requirements, including prevailing wage and certified payroll, with timely preparation and submission of necessary documents
  • Stay informed of evolving labor laws and regulations and ensure organizational adherence to wage and hour requirements
  • Provide general administrative support to the office, including answering phones and assisting with accounts payable and receivable as needed

Compensation & Schedule

  • Salary: USD 55,000 - 70,000 per year
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Pay: Varies based on experience
