Job Description

The Human Resources Manager at Bierschbach Equipment plays a central role in shaping how people experience the organization, from day-to-day support to long-term workforce planning. This onsite position in Sioux Falls, South Dakota focuses on leading core HR operations while partnering with leaders to align people strategy with business needs.

In this role, you will oversee recruiting and onboarding, strengthen employee relations, manage compensation and benefits practices, and ensure HR processes remain compliant. You will also contribute to a safer workplace through safety systems and coordinated occupational health and workers’ compensation efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate hiring activities, including job postings, interview processes, onboarding, and succession planning.
  • Resolve workplace conflicts and support a positive work culture that encourages teamwork across the organization.
  • Oversee competitive pay and compensation practices, benefits programs, and incentive plans to attract and retain talent.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Develop, update, and administer HR policies and procedures; oversee performance management programs and maintain accurate, compliant employee documentation.
  • Partner with executives to align HR strategies with business objectives and future staffing needs.
  • Support performance management systems, training programs, and leadership development initiatives.
  • Manage safety systems and initiatives, coordinating employee safety, occupational health, and workers’ compensation programs.
  • Some travel required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of Human Resources experience required.
  • Previous leadership, supervisory, or management experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, along with written and verbal communication, problem-solving, planning and organization, analytical thinking, time management, and HR technology abilities.
  • Expertise in employment law application, HR best practices, compensation and benefits, and work culture strategies.
  • Safety management, conflict resolution, presentation skills, and payroll practices.
  • SHRM certification preferred.
