Human Resources, Payroll & Talent Administrator
Job Description
The Human Resources, Payroll & Talent Administrator role at AMS Mechanical Services LLC supports day-to-day HR administration while serving as a primary resource for payroll, benefits, retirement programs, and talent coordination. This position is based onsite in Rocky Mount, NC and plays a central part in maintaining compliance with employment laws and internal HR processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
- Review and reconcile employee timesheets.
- Coordinate payroll tax filings, W-2 reporting, garnishments, and payroll deductions.
- Maintain payroll records and assist Accounting with payroll reconciliations.
- Administer health, dental, vision, life, disability, and ancillary benefit programs.
- Complete monthly healthcare invoice reconciliations.
- Manage annual open enrollment and implement employee benefit changes.
- Coordinate COBRA administration and related employee benefit communications.
- Support payroll uploads and employee contribution updates.
- Assist with annual true-up calculations, compliance testing, and audits.
- Respond to employee questions regarding retirement plans.
- Manage onboarding and orientation, including I-9 documentation, personnel files, PTO administration, and handbook updates.
- Coordinate recruiting activities such as job postings, interview scheduling, background checks, and candidate communications.
- Coordinate new employee orientation and the 30/60/90-day onboarding process.
- Maintain job descriptions and compensation records.
- Coordinate the annual performance review process.
- Track OSHA training, licenses, certifications, and continuing education.
- Support workforce planning and succession planning initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field (preferred).
- 3–5+ years of payroll and HR administration experience.
- Experience administering benefits, payroll taxes, and 401(k) plans.
- Construction or service industry experience (preferred).
- Strong proficiency with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent communication, organizational skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Compensation and Benefits
Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
