Job Description

Build a consistent, supportive hiring and onboarding experience while helping people across the organization with core HR needs. Everts Air offers a regular full-time role based in Fairbanks, AK (onsite) with comprehensive benefits, a retirement match, paid time off, and an Employee Assistance Program. The Human Resources Recruitment Specialist supports recruitment and onboarding as the primary focus, while also providing general HR support across employee relations, disciplinary processes, drug and alcohol program administration, benefits, security badging, separations, and HRIS/personnel records.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with leadership across recruitment, selection, hiring, and onboarding by providing guidance on Company policies, procedures, HR practices, and workplace expectations.
  • Answer employee and leadership questions, and escalate items that require additional review or authorization.
  • Coordinate recruiting activities end to end, including preparing and posting job openings, reviewing applications, screening applicants, scheduling interviews, completing reference and background checks, and maintaining candidate communication.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, review position requirements, and develop recruitment strategies for open roles.
  • Support and participate in recruitment activities such as career fairs, school and community outreach, recruitment advertising, and social media efforts to attract qualified candidates.
  • Travel to recruitment events and job fairs as required.
  • Prepare and process employment-related documentation, including offer letters and job descriptions, and coordinate pre-employment requirements such as required screenings, licenses, certificates, and other position-specific qualifications.
  • Verify Airframe and Powerplant (A&P Mechanic certificates) and other required credentials as applicable.
  • Coordinate and facilitate new-hire onboarding and orientation, ensuring required documentation, pre-employment requirements, HRIS processes, and applicable Company procedures are completed accurately and timely.
  • Maintain accurate applicant and employee information in HR systems, including HRIS data entry, personnel records, reporting, audits, and other required HR documentation.
  • Assist with administration of the Company drug and alcohol programs as a Designated Employer Representative (DER), including required testing processes, documentation, recordkeeping, and related program requirements as assigned.
  • Support benefits questions and benefits enrollment, including eligibility, documentation, and related administrative processes.
  • Help with employee relations and disciplinary processes by gathering information, preparing documentation, and assisting with consistent policy administration.
  • Coordinate employee separation activities, including terminations and exit interviews, ensuring required documentation, property collection, applicable notifications, and separation procedures are completed.
  • Coordinate identification badge creation and issuance and serve as an authorized airport security signatory as assigned, including processing airport badge applications, verifying required documentation, maintaining applicable records, and supporting employee access requirements.
  • Process CSED deduction orders and other applicable wage withholding orders and respond to employment verification requests in accordance with Company procedures and applicable requirements.
  • Serve as part of the Company Emergency Response Team (ERT), supporting employee communications, personnel accountability, documentation, coordination, and other HR responsibilities in line with the Emergency Response Plan.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee, applicant, medical, compensation, disciplinary, and other sensitive HR information while maintaining professional working relationships with employees, applicants, leadership, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Must be able to pass an Airport Background Criminal History Check.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a drug-free workplace and comply with Company drug and alcohol policies.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in Human Resources, recruitment, staffing, administrative support, or a related field is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to learn and use HRIS, applicant tracking, background screening, and other HR systems required.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee, applicant, and Company information required.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and follow assignments through to completion while collaborating with HR, leadership, and other departments required.
  • Ability and willingness to travel periodically for recruitment events and career fairs required.
  • Ability and willingness to respond to time-sensitive HR needs outside of normal business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Schedule: M-F 8:00AM - 5:00PM
