Responsibilities
- Handle bi-weekly payroll processing accurately and on schedule using Paycor
- Review employee timesheets and resolve discrepancies before payroll processing
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements
- Execute off-cycle payroll as needed for bonuses, reimbursements, and similar payments
- Administer pre-employment and onboarding documentation
- Create new employee records in the HRIS and related systems
- Distribute firm policies, the employee handbook, and benefits enrollment materials promptly
- Oversee the Law Clerk recruiting program, including career fairs, interviews, onboarding, and offboarding
- Coordinate the annual open enrollment process, including staff communications, system updates, and carrier submissions
- Maintain accurate and current benefits elections for all employees throughout the year
- Process life event changes that affect benefits in a timely manner
- Serve as a liaison between employees and benefits carriers to resolve coverage or billing inquiries
- Reconcile monthly benefits invoices and report discrepancies to finance
- Support benefits compliance filings such as ACA reporting and COBRA notices
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in the HRIS
- Assist with HR policy development and updates to the Employee Handbook
- Assist with HR reporting and metrics as requested
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- HR experience with direct responsibility for payroll processing and benefits administration preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
