Human Resources Specialist

The Human Resources Specialist at Bass Pro Shops in Victor, NY, onsite, leads key onsite HR initiatives around staffing, training, engagement, orientation and onboarding, and administrative excellence. The role also provides administrative support to the General Manager as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a strong focus on delivering world class customer service to ensure a welcoming and productive shopping experience for guests.
• Act as a brand ambassador, communicating the company's culture to foster retention and a positive work environment within each department.
• Coordinate the hiring and staffing process for hourly outfitters.
• Oversee training completion and ongoing monitoring for location outfitters.
• Process and audit all employment actions within the HRIS, Payroll, and Scheduling systems for hourly staff.
• Protect confidentiality of all sensitive information.
• Assist with planning and implementing associate recognition and related activities in collaboration with the General Manager.
• Communicate HR policies, practices, and direction from the company to staff.
• Maintain compliance records and related postings and notices.
• Provide guidance on performance management, the annual review process, and succession planning for hourly outfitters.
• Respond to first level outfitter issues and escalate to the Senior HR Manager or Employee Relations as appropriate.
• Perform administrative duties as needed.
• Process invoices and manage expenses within Coupa.
• Order and monitor store supplies.
• Coordinate travel for store outfitters and leaders.
• All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Preferred Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource
• Years of experience: 1-3 years in human resources and administrative/office roles

Starting Pay Rate

$20.00 - $22.75 per hour

Travel Requirements

May require infrequent travel to support other stores and new store events.

Physical Requirements

Regular computer work, walking, sitting, and standing.

Independent Judgment

Tasks are performed under general supervision using established procedures with some innovation. The role involves selecting from limited options to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete assignments, and the position often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
