People Operations Generalist
Job Description
People Operations Generalist will serve as the operational backbone for the Chicago office, coordinating recruiting logistics, candidate experience, and day-to-day people operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead initial candidate outreach and sourcing for open roles across trading, software development, and operations
- Schedule and coordinate phone screens, on-sites, and interview agendas across departments and with candidates
- Own the candidate experience end to end, including travel and logistics, day-of hosting, and follow-up
- Keep the recruiting pipeline organized by tracking candidates, requesting and maintaining feedback, and supporting the applicant-tracking system
- Coordinate key hiring steps including offer letters, background checks, and handoff into onboarding
- Manage office and people operations including supplies, vendors, deliveries, and the office space
- Run the food and kitchen program, including daily lunches, groceries, snacks, and coffee
- Plan and execute company events, team outings, and milestones such as birthdays, work anniversaries, and team wins
- Manage executive and team calendars, meeting logistics, travel coordination, and new-hire setup from desk to first-day logistics
- Handle day-to-day operational issues proactively to prevent disruption for others
Requirements
- 1 to 3 years of experience in people operations, recruiting coordination, office management, executive assistance, or a similar high-touch operational role
- Proactive approach with a no-task-is-beneath-me mindset; identify needs and handle them without prompting
- Excellent written and verbal communication, acting as a point of contact for candidates and vendors
- Strong scheduling and tooling skills across Outlook or Google Calendar, Excel or Sheets, and applicant-tracking or CRM tools
- Comfort learning new web-based systems
- Discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential information (compensation, candidate details, and internal matters)
- Service mindset focused on helping others have smoother days
- Ability and desire to learn new technologies quickly
