People Operations Specialist

New Beginnings Creator Network is seeking a hands-on People Operations Specialist to manage the US HR function for a growing team. Based in Glendale, CA and onsite, this role acts as the operational bridge to our China HR group, focusing on execution, immigration tracking, and California compliance for roughly 80 employees.

• Salary: USD 80,000 - 110,000 per year

Responsibilities

• Run the entire end-to-end employee lifecycle.
• Personally execute onboarding, offboarding, performance improvement plans (PIPs), and terminations.
• Act as the first point of contact for daily employee relations, conflict resolution, and compliance enforcement.
• Actively monitor employee work authorizations, maintain updated databases, proactively drive visa renewal timelines with lawyers, and resolve status risks directly with employees and managers.
• Serve as the operational link with our China-based payroll execution team. Gather data, track headcount changes, and perform monthly payroll reconciliations to ensure 100% accuracy.
• Provide daily guidance to managers on how to handle compliance, deliver feedback, and document performance tracking according to US/California labor laws.
• Maintain digital employee files, ensure accurate data entry in HR systems, and handle administrative HR requests from both the local team and HQ.

Requirements

• 3-5+ years of hands-on HR Generalist / People Operations experience in the US.
• Deep, practical knowledge of US Federal and State labor regulations, with California experience an absolute must-have.
• Direct experience tracking, processing, and coordinating work visas (H-1B, OPT, CPT) directly with external immigration attorneys.
• Fluent Chinese speaker (Mandarin).
• Exceptional cross-cultural communication skills and comfort working closely with global teams.
• A true doer who thrives in autonomy and prefers operational, day-to-day execution over high-level strategy.
