Recruiter — Bilingual English/Spanish
Job Description
Take a hands-on, bilingual recruiting role supporting full life cycle hiring across multiple operational teams in a hybrid environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage full life cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried openings across multiple departments and locations.
- Partner with hiring managers to clarify staffing needs, job requirements, schedules, qualifications, and hiring urgency.
- Draft and post job advertisements using the company’s applicant tracking and advertising tools.
- Source candidates through job boards, resume databases, referrals, community contacts, walk-ins, job fairs, and other recruiting channels.
- Conduct bilingual phone screens and initial interviews in English and Spanish.
- Coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
- Assess candidate qualifications and support hiring managers in practical hiring decisions.
- Prepare and extend employment offers aligned with approved pay ranges, internal equity, and company guidelines.
- Coordinate post-offer steps, including background checks, drug screens, employment eligibility, onboarding paperwork, and related new hire requirements in partnership with HR Admin and other HR team members.
- Track candidate progress through onboarding and follow up to support timely completion.
- Maintain accurate candidate, requisition, and hiring records in Taleo and related HR systems.
- Provide clear, professional candidate communication throughout the process.
- Improve recruiting efficiency, candidate flow, candidate communication, and hiring manager follow-up.
- Support onsite hiring events, community recruiting, and other recruiting initiatives as needed.
- Represent SMS in alignment with company values: quality, integrity, service, and reliability.
- Ensure recruiting practices follow company policy and applicable employment law.
Requirements
- Bilingual English/Spanish required, including ability to speak with candidates and employees in both languages.
- Comfort recruiting for hourly and salaried positions.
- Strong phone screening, interviewing, follow-up, and candidate communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple open positions at the same time.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to keep candidate and requisition records current.
- Practical judgment and ability to work effectively with busy hiring managers.
- Comfort using applicant tracking systems, HR systems, job boards, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel.
- Taleo and Dayforce experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with I-9, E-Verify, background checks, drug screens, and onboarding processes is a plus.
- Prior recruiting, HR, staffing agency, or high-volume hiring experience preferred.
- Strongly preferred: recruiting experience for warehouse, production, transportation, logistics, food distribution, manufacturing, or similar operational roles.

Job Details
- Location: Los Angeles, CA (hybrid)
- Onsite schedule: three days onsite per week at Rancho Dominguez headquarters
- Additional onsite time: may be needed for hiring events, interviews, onboarding, business needs, or meetings
- Salary: USD 70,000 - 75,000 per year
- Focus: full life cycle recruiting for warehouse, production, delivery driver, administrative, customer service, sales support, and other operational roles
- Team fit: partners directly with hiring managers to fill critical openings and support candidates from first contact through onboarding
