Job Description

Chart, Inc. is hiring a Senior Human Resource Generalist for its Canton, GA site, where the work is hands-on and centered on practical HR leadership. In this onsite role, you will help strengthen recruiting, support supervisors through performance and corrective action, and handle employee relations with a consistent, compliant approach that supports retention, development, and a safety-first mindset.

What you’ll do

  • Lead location recruiting end to end, including sourcing, screening, hiring, and onboarding or orientation.
  • Collaborate with site leaders to assess workforce needs and develop strategies to build pipelines for key roles.
  • Partner with local community high schools and trade schools to support future staffing requirements.
  • Coach supervisory teams on difficult performance conversations, real-time feedback, executing corrective actions, and identifying root causes to reduce repeat issues.
  • Establish a strong HR presence with shop floor employees through trust, competence, and mutual respect.
  • Manage employee relations complaints and conduct investigations using knowledge of federal and state labor laws to support a positive outcome for all parties.
  • Drive monthly recognition initiatives, including event planning oversight, managing the associated budget, and collecting employee feedback to measure effectiveness.
  • Monitor hourly pay competitiveness to help attract and retain top talent.
  • Support annual compensation analysis and review hourly job classifications ahead of the annual merit cycle.
  • Interpret company policies and procedures to ensure consistent application across the site.
  • Participate in internal and external audits and deliver annual ethics training.
  • Consult with other HR team members on non-routine questions to maintain alignment across the US region.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a comparable field.
  • 5+ years of progressive human resources management experience, preferably including some HR in a manufacturing environment.
  • SHRM certification is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex employee relations matters with maturity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of Georgia labor law, EEO, and compensation analysis.
  • Experience working with large HRIS systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Change management capability, with the ability to influence, drive, or support organizational change.
  • Strong organization and self-starter habits, with comfort operating with urgency while managing competing priorities.
