This on-site Senior HR Business Partner role supports assigned cement plant locations and serves as the primary HR point of contact for site leadership across multiple sites in the US and Canada, based from the Durkee, OR plant location.

What you’ll do

  • Partner with plant and operations leaders to deliver strategic HR programs aligned with business needs across the full employment lifecycle
  • Provide subject matter expertise in leadership, organizational effectiveness, org structure, and human capital processes to support sustainable business results
  • Mentor and provide day-to-day guidance to HR Business Partners at assigned plant locations
  • Oversee employee and labor relations matters, including terminations, performance management, complaints, and disciplinary actions
  • Support and manage union contract negotiations and interpretations, including grievances and arbitration, with guidance from HR leadership and Labor Relations
  • Investigate and document employee complaints (ADR) and participate in EEOC and complaint meetings as required
  • Manage internal and external recruiting for assigned plant openings, including coordination of onboarding, orientation, and new hire integration
  • Provide education and coaching on performance management throughout the review process
  • Analyze workforce metrics such as turnover, engagement, and attrition, then recommend action plans to leadership
  • Review and approve personnel changes, including salary/position changes, new hires, and separations
  • Support separation documentation and conduct exit interviews to identify trends
  • Support talent review, succession planning, and individual development planning
  • Coordinate and deliver required HR training in collaboration with Learning & Development
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies
  • Promote and follow safety guidelines, advocating for all safety programs and initiatives

What you bring

  • Minimum 4-year/Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Preferred: SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of employee information and HR records at all times
  • Ability to work onsite at assigned locations in an industrial/manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of employment and labor law; union environment experience preferred
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems; experience with UKG or similar HCM platforms preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across all organizational levels
  • Ability to coach and develop more junior HR professionals
  • Ability to analyze HR data and people metrics and translate findings into actionable recommendations
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities across multiple sites
  • Knowledge of talent management, succession planning, and workforce development
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and build relationships across functions and/or sites
