Hands-on, multi-site HR leadership is needed to own and operate people operations for all Bilan homes from Madison, WI, with hybrid options, flexible hours, and PTO, and eligibility for a bonus.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the complete employee lifecycle across all homes: posting roles, screening, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and offboarding.
- Update and maintain the company wide Employee Handbook to reflect the realities of 24/7 residential care work.
- Ensure personnel files across sites comply with Wisconsin DHS 88 requirements, including caregiver background checks, training registries, and health screenings.
- Recruit and screen caregiving and support staff for every location and coordinate new-hire training.
- Coordinate mandatory continuing education and compliance training for staff organization-wide.
- Serve as the main point of contact for employee questions and concerns across all homes, resolving conflicts with fairness and empathy.
- Manage payroll and employee benefits administration for the entire company.
- Support company culture through recognition programs and engagement activities across locations.
- Ensure adherence to state and federal labor and employment laws company-wide.
- Collaborate with home managers and leadership to standardize HR practices across sites.
- Prepare HR reports and documentation for leadership as needed.
Requirements
- 3+ years of HR experience, ideally as the sole HR lead or within a multi-site/small business setup.
- Working knowledge of state and federal labor and employment law.
- Familiarity with healthcare, caregiving, or residential-care compliance is a strong plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail, capable of managing HR across multiple locations.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and energized by building and standardizing processes during growth.
- Ability to build trust and rapport with staff and managers across all homes.
