Job Description
The Talent Acquisition and Development Partner role at Millcraft is based onsite in Independence, OH and focuses on full-cycle recruiting, onboarding, training, development, and succession planning aligned to our culture and growth goals.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end recruiting for pivotal roles across the organization, prioritizing senior-level and revenue-driving positions
- Collaborate with hiring managers to define role requirements and success profiles
- Align hiring decisions with business strategy and team needs in partnership with managers
- Develop and maintain proactive talent pipelines for essential and recurring roles
- Source, screen, and evaluate candidates for technical fit and cultural compatibility
- Enhance the candidate journey from initial outreach to offer acceptance
- Fill roles internally to reduce reliance on external recruiters
- Monitor and report on recruiting metrics: time-to-fill
- Monitor and report on recruiting metrics: cost-per-hire
- Monitor and report on recruiting metrics: quality of hire
- Strengthen Millcraft's employer brand through candidate engagement and external networking
- Partner with HR leadership to support a structured onboarding experience
- Coordinate and support new hire cohorts
- Develop 30/60/90-day success plans
- Ensure new hires integrate into team structures
- Assist in implementing and managing a New Hire Buddy Program
- Ensure new hires connect with key internal stakeholders
- Provide resources and tools for success
- Collect feedback to continuously improve onboarding effectiveness
- Lead and execute elements of Millcraft's training and development strategy
- Organize new hire training cohorts
- Oversee sales training programs
- Support professional development initiatives
- Coordinate external training programs such as NAW, EDIC, Six Sigma
- Manage conference participation and logistics
- Collaborate on tracking ROI of training investments and share knowledge with teams
- Create learning guides and internal sessions
- Support structured learning paths, especially for sales roles
- Develop for early career employees
- Design and support a formal mentoring program, including mentor-mentee matching
- Monitor effectiveness through feedback and pulse checks
- Identify and develop high-potential talent
- Support leadership development initiatives
- Facilitate career pathing and progression
- Contribute to succession planning by building pipelines for key roles
- Support internal mobility strategies
- Help capture institutional knowledge from experienced team members, including customer insights, sales strategies, and business processes
- Coordinate structured knowledge-sharing efforts such as "If I were starting over" sessions, customer playbooks, and cross-functional learning sessions
- Act as a strategic partner to HR and business leaders on talent needs
- Help shift the organization from reactive hiring to proactive workforce planning
- Identify talent gaps and opportunities aligned with business growth
- Contribute to continuous improvement of hiring processes, talent programs, and the employee experience
Requirements
- 3–7+ years of experience in corporate recruiting or talent acquisition
- Or a hybrid recruiting plus HR/people development role
- Experience recruiting for professional, sales, or leadership roles preferred
- Exposure to training, onboarding, or development programs is a strong plus
- Willingness to travel regionally within a four-hour drive up to 25% of the time
- Ability to assess both technical fit and cultural alignment
- Highly organized with strong project coordination abilities
- Skilled in influencing hiring decisions and driving alignment
