Job Description

Meda Health is seeking a Travel Healthcare Recruiter to support travel nursing and allied health staffing from first contact through placement. This onsite role in Westlake, TX focuses on full lifecycle recruiting, including sourcing, qualifying, building submissions, negotiating offers, and guiding travelers through their assignments.

You will manage a full recruiting desk and drive outcomes across candidate pipeline health, placement activity, and traveler retention, working closely with internal teams including credentialing and compliance.

What you’ll do

  • Source travel nurses and allied health professionals using Meda Health’s applicant tracking system, existing database, and approved recruiting channels.
  • Run high-volume outreach through calls, text messages, email, and digital platforms.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of new, warm, repeat, and reactivated candidates.
  • Prioritize recruiting efforts for active, high-priority openings and candidates aligned to current client needs.
  • Evaluate candidates across specialty, experience, licensure, certifications, availability, location and shift preferences, and compensation expectations.
  • Confirm candidate interest, responsiveness, and readiness prior to moving forward.
  • Maintain accurate ATS records, notes, and supporting documentation for audit-ready files.
  • Create complete, accurate, and submission-ready candidate profiles.
  • Submit qualified candidates according to client and MSP/VMS requirements.
  • Track candidates through submission, interview, offer, and confirmation steps.
  • Coordinate interviews and keep timely communication with candidates and internal partners.
  • Present travel assignments and compensation packages clearly, including coverage of objections and counteroffers.
  • Negotiate offers by balancing candidate needs with Meda Health’s margin goals.
  • Secure candidate commitments and confirmed start dates.
  • Partner with credentialing and compliance teams to move confirmed candidates through onboarding.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for travelers throughout the assignment, addressing concerns and resolving issues to support retention.
  • Start extension conversations before assignment end dates and support transitions into the next Meda Health opportunity.
  • Reengage former travelers and candidates from the existing database to strengthen repeat placements and referrals.
  • Manage a full desk and remain accountable for both recruiting activity and placement outcomes.

Required skills and experience

  • Prior healthcare staffing or travel-nurse recruiting experience.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with confidence on the phone.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Strong organization and the ability to run a high-volume pipeline under deadline pressure.
  • Proficiency with ATS/CRM tools (LaborEdge / Nexus is a plus), plus video conferencing and digital sourcing.
  • A sales mindset, high emotional intelligence, and consistent urgency.
  • Ability to work full-time in office at Meda’s Westlake, TX location.

Compensation and benefits

Salary: USD 50,000 - 65,000 per year.

Performance expectations

  • Recruiters manage a full desk and are accountable for both recruiting activity and placement outcomes.
  • Once established, maintain consistent new placements with a standing expectation of two or more placements per week.
  • Drive strong traveler retention and extension performance.
  • Follow up with new leads in a timely manner, preferably on the same business day.
  • Maintain consistent outbound calls, texts, and candidate outreach.
  • Deliver complete, high-quality candidate profiles and submissions.
  • Handle offers, starts, extensions, and redeployments effectively.
  • Document activities in the ATS with discipline and follow lead-ownership requirements.

Weekly targets are based on experience and tenure and reviewed regularly with recruiting leadership. Preferred experience includes direct travel-nurse or allied health recruiting for a U.S. agency, familiarity with RN/allied licensure and certifications as well as compliance requirements, and experience working MSP/VMS client programs.
