Job Description

Build HR programs that support AACR’s mission. In this onsite role in Philadelphia, you will partner with the Director of Human Resources to develop, implement, and carry out human resources initiatives across the organization. You will also advise management on critical people issues and collaborate with leadership to strengthen talent, performance, and compliance.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist the Director of HR in overseeing the Talent Acquisition Process, including full-cycle recruitment, interviewing, and hiring for managerial, exempt, and professional roles.
  • Collaborate with departmental managers to understand the skills and competencies needed for each opening.
  • Partner with hiring managers to develop, update, and revise job descriptions.
  • Support the updating, development, and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Help manage HR team work processes and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, separations, and investigations.
  • Provide coaching and consulting to leadership on performance management, employee relations, and employee development/training.
  • Research, develop, write, and implement human resource policies and procedures.
  • Manage health and safety, including applicable OSHA and ADA regulations.
  • Participate in the performance evaluation process.
  • Support the planning and implementation of special projects and initiatives for AACR and the HR department.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships across departments and manage external vendor relationships.
  • Stay current on HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new HR technologies, including talent management and employment law.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

  • 7-10 years of HR management experience.
  • Excellent management skills and strong knowledge of HR disciplines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain issues, express opinions, ask questions, actively listen, and consider alternative ideas.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with team leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to remain flexible and shift priorities quickly.
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills.

Education & Certifications

  • B.A. or B.S. degree required.
  • Master’s degree in Human Resource Management or HR certification required: SPHR or PHR.

  • Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems
  • Spreadsheet and database programs
