Job Description

The Associate Human Resources Business Partner, Hub Services provides day-to-day HR guidance and operational support for hub-based teams, working closely with the Hub HR Business Partner to ensure effective employee relations, compliant HR documentation, and accurate HR systems administration on site at Denver International Airport.

Location and Work Setting

  • Denver, CO (onsite)
  • On site at DEN airport

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the HRBP with employee investigations by attending meetings, taking notes, and, at times, leading low-risk cases.
  • Act as a corporate liaison by providing general support and information, and assisting with responses related to company policies, leaves of absence, and unemployment claims.
  • Provide HR support to internal customers and colleagues in a friendly, efficient, accurate, and professional manner.
  • Facilitate New Hire Orientation.
  • Partner with the HR Business Partner on people matters to develop deeper understanding of the business.
  • Maintain sensitive or confidential HR files.
  • Support management for leave of absence requests, disciplinary action plans, and occupational injury reports.
  • Maintain accurate union employee seniority dates to support frontline employee inquiries.
  • Collaborate with other departments on shared processes, including job abandonment, occupational injuries, and conducting the Reasonable Accommodation Process for employees who may require transitional duties.
  • Assist the HRBP with facilitation of locally held training classes.
  • Process I-9 verification in E-Verify.
  • Manage and respond to HR inquiries in-person, via email, and by phone.
  • Administer ADP (HRIS) and support computer system changes and updates.
  • Assist in analyzing HR metrics and data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support HR objectives through initiatives and special projects.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of HR experience or relevant experience with a bachelor’s or other relevant degree
  • Associate degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, and/or relative experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Practical understanding of HR policies, procedures, and employment laws
  • Detail oriented with a strong work ethic and ability to maintain confidentiality in daily operations
  • Some experience with employee investigations and managing employee relation concerns
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Team player with willingness to learn
  • Some travel (depending on business need)
  • Non-remote role

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with CBA language and interpretation while supporting a larger, diverse unionized workforce
  • Knowledge of various types of leaves of absence (including FMLA, military, VESSA) and experience administering and tracking leaves of absence
  • Experience responding to unemployment claims
  • Airline experience

Salary

Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
