Contract Recruiter

Trellis AI is looking for a Contract Recruiter to help scale hiring quickly in a contract-to-hire role based in San Francisco, CA (onsite). This position is focused on high-volume recruiting and fast, structured candidate communication, with ownership of the pipeline through to scheduling and feedback loops.

You will report to Matt Halper (Head of Talent) and move into the role on an accelerated timeline, with an expected start within one to two weeks. The recruiter will support hiring across multiple teams, including engineering and go-to-market functions.

What you’ll do

• Lead first-round conversations for a high volume of candidates, evaluating fit and presenting the opportunity
• Source and engage talent using LinkedIn, referrals, and the company’s networks
• Manage candidate progress in Ashby, ensuring timely, clear communication at every stage
• Calibrate on what strong candidates look like and share pipeline data and market feedback
• Schedule interview loops and coordinate to ensure a strong candidate experience
• Conduct direct candidate screening since AI screeners are not used

Who you are

• Have 3+ years of full-cycle or agency recruiting experience, ideally within a high-growth startup environment
• Have experience recruiting for both technical and go-to-market roles
• Be comfortable running high-volume screens each week
• Have experience with Ashby or a similar ATS
• Be able to start within one to two weeks
• Be based in San Francisco or able to work from the SF office (strongly preferred)

Compensation and role type
