EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES
Job Description
Executive Director of Human Resources for Beecher Community School District under the Mid-Michigan Area Public Schools Consortium, onsite in Flint, Michigan.
Responsibilities
- Interprets and enforces Beecher Board of Education policies, administrative rules and regulations, and labor agreements across all district employee units.
- Regularly attends Board meetings and prepares required reports and information.
- Maintains current knowledge of field developments by attending professional meetings, reading relevant publications, and collaborating with peers and university personnel.
- Leads recruitment for all district personnel.
- Conducts interviews and submits recommendations to the Superintendent for Board consideration.
- Oversees the certification of all employees in accordance with applicable certification codes.
- Supervises the development and maintenance of personnel handbooks.
- Develops job descriptions for new staff positions and coordinates periodic reviews of existing descriptions.
- Establishes and maintains a personnel records system to provide accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date information on attendance, leaves, promotions, retirement, tenure, transfer, and related matters.
- Designs and implements personnel forms, records, reports, and data processing systems aligned with district needs.
- Prepares and maintains appropriate statistical information on all personnel.
- Submits required reports to the Michigan Department of Education, federal agencies, and the Beecher Board of Education.
- Screens, selects, and maintains a roster of qualified substitute teachers.
- Manages labor relations and implements strategies to foster a positive work environment for all employees.
- Represents the Board in contract interpretations and grievance proceedings.
- Conducts exit interviews for departing personnel.
- Oversees new employee orientation and coordinates in-service programs with administrative staff.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
- Maintains a workplace free of alcohol and non-prescribed controlled substances.
Requirements
- Master's degree in personnel services or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of administrative or supervisory experience.
- Proven ability to work with the entire school community, including parents, teachers, administrators, students, and related groups.
- Working knowledge of Michigan Department of Education and federal guidelines.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience implementing bargaining and labor relations strategies with a Win-Win approach.
- Sense of humor and positive demeanor.
- Creative problem-solving capabilities.
- Reference checks to be completed.
- Police clearance with digital fingerprinting.

Annual Salary
- $75,000 – $80,000 per year.
