Job Description

American Airlines invites you to join the Global People Team in Fort Worth, Texas, onsite, as a Generalist who will help shape employee relations, performance management, benefits, onboarding, and HR operations. You will collaborate with leaders and Centers of Excellence to drive people initiatives and foster a culture of engagement and development.

Responsibilities

  • Support leaders in employee relations investigations and outcomes.
  • Guide leaders on performance management, development planning, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
  • Mediates and resolves HR related inquiries from team members.
  • Assist with daily operational requests from the supported business unit, ensuring timely and effective resolution of tactical issues.
  • Leverage data and metrics to inform improvements to policy, process, and training for employees.
  • Collaborate with the ADA team to determine appropriate accommodations.
  • Respond to benefit questions from staff and leaders, routing as needed.
  • Support administration of compensation and benefits programs.
  • Monitor compliance with timely completion of HR and enterprise-wide required training.
  • Track leadership goals to ensure timely entry and biannual follow up on execution.
  • Assist leaders with work authorization and onboarding plans for new hires.
  • Conduct stay and exit interviews for MSS roles as needed.
  • Partner with the People Business Partner on strategic imperatives such as talent strategy, learning and development, DEI, and engagement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business management or related field, or equivalent experience or training.
  • Minimum of 3 years of human resources experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional maturity to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

Preferred qualifications

  • Familiar with state and federal employment laws including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, NLRB, Title VII, and related statutes.
  • PHR or SPHR certification.
  • Experience guiding and counseling leaders.
  • Strong business acumen and curiosity.
  • Experience in reporting, analyzing, interpreting data, and applying critical thinking.
  • Prior experience working with unionized team members.

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate high self-motivation.
  • Strong initiative and sound judgment skills.
