Heavy Haul Driver Recruiter

The Heavy Haul Driver Recruiter supports Miller Transfer by sourcing CDL-A heavy haul drivers and managing the full recruitment lifecycle on-site in Boardman, Ohio.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement targeted recruiting plans to attract qualified CDL-A heavy haul drivers via social media, direct outreach, job boards, referrals, and proactive lead generation.
• Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for company drivers and independent contractors.
• Build and maintain relationships with candidates, industry contacts, and current drivers to sustain a strong talent pipeline.
• Conduct thorough screening of driver applicants, including qualification verification, MVR review, and DOT compliance checks.
• Monitor safety-sensitive applications daily within the applicant tracking system to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate onboarding activities, including travel arrangements and new hire orientation, in partnership with the driver trainer.
• Provide responsive, professional communication with candidates at every touchpoint.
• Stay informed on industry trends, employment laws, and regulations affecting driver recruitment.
• Participate in weekly recruiting team meetings and monthly fleet calls.

Requirements

• 1 to 3 years of driver or transportation recruiting experience, with a clear sense of what defines a strong CDL-A candidate.
• Comfort with high call volumes and a proven track record of making calls, following up, and closing.
• Highly organized and self-directed, capable of managing 20+ open positions concurrently without losing oversight.
• Familiarity with applicant tracking systems and social media sourcing platforms.
• Driven, candidate-centered approach that treats each candidate with professionalism and respect.
