Human Resource Manager
Job Description
Lanco Dairy Farms Coop LLC is seeking an experienced Human Resource Manager to lead HR operations for its Hancock, Maryland onsite location.
Responsibilities
- Provide HR guidance and expertise to management and employees at all levels.
- Work with employees and managers to identify root causes of workplace issues and drive resolutions using a systematic, analytical approach, including investigations.
- Recommend actions to reduce potential employment liability.
- Partner with the management team to assess people needs and develop and implement an action plan.
- Manage recruitment and hiring for staffing needs across both non-exempt and exempt roles.
- Own and coordinate recruitment and onboarding activities, including:
- Posting roles internally and externally
- Coordinating headcount needs with supervisors
- Reviewing applications and scheduling interviews and plant tours
- Developing and implementing onboarding and orientation for new hires
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, plus company policies and guidelines.
- Develop and implement required training for employees across all levels, covering business processes, policies, and compliance.
- Evaluate employee programs, recommend improvements to employee relations policies, and ensure employee-related policies align with established regulations.
- Administer HR programs and policies in compliance with employment laws, including:
- EEO
- ADA
- FMLA
- Related federal, state, and local regulations
- Identify opportunities to improve overall location performance and recommend changes.
- Review employee time and payroll data from timesheets; reconcile through the ADP payroll system.
- Verify attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments, and post updates through ADP.
- Complete other related tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and attention to detail and documentation.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate with all departments and management levels.
- Business maturity and integrity, especially when handling highly confidential information.
- Ability to deliver consistent, high-quality HR processes and services.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS/payroll systems; ADP experience preferred.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.

- Experience level: 3+ years in human resources (3–5 years preferred), including employee relations, compliance, and payroll administration.
- Microsoft Office: 3 years (required).

Education / Experience / Work Environment
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent) (preferred).
License / Certification
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR) (preferred)
Location: Hancock, Maryland (onsite) | Salary: USD 72,000–85,000 per year | Minimum experience: 3 years
