Human Resources Administrator
Job Description
A-1 Electrical Contractors Inc is seeking a detail-oriented Human Resources Administrator to support the HR team and serve as the front desk contact for the Metairie, LA office. The position combines HR support, including onboarding and offboarding and benefits administration, with essential front-desk and administrative duties to help maintain smooth daily operations. The compensation range is USD 18 - 24 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Maintain current and compliant personnel files and benefits enrollment records.
- Assist with new-hire onboarding and employee offboarding processes.
- Support benefits administration, including enrollment updates and responding to employee questions about benefits programs.
- Uphold confidentiality of HR information to protect employee privacy.
- Greet visitors and route them to the appropriate contact or department.
- Manage telephone services, email flows, and mail distribution.
- Coordinate calendars for senior leadership, arrange travel, and prepare meeting agendas.
- Provide broad administrative support, including scheduling meetings, entering and formatting documents, and handling occasional errands.
- Monitor and maintain accurate employee timekeeping records.
- Oversee office supplies inventory to support daily operations.
- Ensure quality service by adhering to organizational standards and procedures.
- Handle additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A college degree or equivalent experience in HR or administrative roles.
- Prior experience in an HR role preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn HR software and systems.
- Excellent written and spoken communication abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the capacity to manage confidential matters professionally and with diplomacy.
- Professional, friendly demeanor with a customer-service orientation.
