Human Resources Analyst
Job Description
Based in Lake Charles, this onsite role supports the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury by collecting and analyzing HR metrics, delivering data driven recommendations, and assisting with HR programs and compliance.
Location and Compensation
Location: Lake Charles, LA (onsite).
Salary: USD 60,566 per year.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather and consolidate HR metrics from multiple sources, including the HRIS, payroll outputs, management and employee surveys, exit interviews, employment records, government labor statistics, competitor practices, and other data streams.
- Analyze data to identify trends and patterns related to recruitment, hiring practices, motivation, turnover, and compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- Identify and propose short term and long term goals, milestones, and benchmarks for key performance indicators.
- Offer policy and activity recommendations aimed at improving organizational culture based on metric insights.
- Develop databases and spreadsheets and prepare statistical reports and analyses.
- Contribute to discussions on compensation, benefits, organizational programs, and analytical studies.
- Collaborate with departments and external vendors to integrate and automate software and technologies.
- Conduct research on confidential HR issues; compile and evaluate data; prepare related reports.
- Assist with organizational projects impacting the entire organization, including revisions to the Human Resources Manual, major medical initiatives, and disaster recovery planning.
- Perform needs assessments and comparative reviews on HR topics.
- Monitor pending legislation with potential direct or indirect effects on employment law.
- Stay current on laws, standards, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Design and implement measurement tools for key HR functions such as pre employment processing and turnover reporting.
- Interpret and explain HR policies and work rules to employees, supervisors, and applicants; assist with HR programs and processes.
- Prepare and update HR documents, including essential employee records, unemployment, and related materials.
- Prepare and present reports to the Human Resources Director and senior management.
- Coordinate employee engagement activities, including contests and fundraising efforts.
- Develop curricula and training programs aligned with organizational needs; research topics and materials.
- Facilitate educational workshops, orientations, and training sessions; produce supporting materials and handouts.
- Evaluate instructional effectiveness and implement necessary improvements.
- Identify, schedule, and coordinate classes, including reserving facilities and coordinating training calendars.
- Track and maintain training and development records and generate related reports.
- Perform other duties of a similar nature or level as required.
