Job Description

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with managers and department leaders to guide employee relations, performance management, coaching, conflict resolution, and development initiatives.
  • Advise senior leadership on policy interpretation, employment law compliance, and HR best practices.
  • Support workforce planning, organizational development, and succession planning efforts.
  • Assist managers with performance improvement plans, corrective actions, and coaching conversations.
  • Promote employee engagement and foster an inclusive, positive workplace culture.
  • Build strong relationships with employees at all levels, serving as a trusted HR resource.
  • Coordinate full-cycle recruitment activities, including postings, screening, interviewing, and offers.
  • Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and develop recruitment strategies.
  • Ensure completion of pre-employment steps, including background checks, drug screenings, and onboarding documentation.
  • Support new-hire orientation and onboarding to create a positive onboarding experience.
  • Administer benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans.
  • Manage benefit enrollments, life events, and annual open enrollment activities; act as the primary benefits contact.
  • Maintain benefit records within ADP Workforce Now and ensure data accuracy.
  • Collaborate with insurance brokers and carriers on plan administration.
  • Monitor compliance with ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, Section 125, and other applicable regulations.
  • Assist with 401(k) administration, reporting, and employee education.
  • Prepare benefit utilization reports and recommend process improvements.
  • Conduct workplace investigations with confidentiality and objectivity.
  • Provide guidance on disciplinary actions, coaching, employee concerns, and terminations; ensure fair application of policies.
  • Support conflict resolution and promote proactive, respectful employee relations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws; maintain accurate HR records and documentation.
  • Assist with internal audits, compliance reporting, and record retention; review and update HR policies as needed.
  • Support HR initiatives that improve operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain accurate employee data in ADP Workforce Now and generate HR reports, workforce metrics, and analytics.
  • Assist with compensation benchmarking and salary analysis; monitor data integrity and suggest improvements.
  • Coordinate employee training programs and professional development initiatives; support leadership development and succession planning.
  • Assist with performance management processes and development planning; identify opportunities to boost engagement and organizational effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of progressive HR experience required, with time spent on employee relations, recruiting, benefits administration, and performance management.
  • Experience conducting workplace investigations and handling confidential matters.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems; ADP Workforce Now experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with close attention to detail.

Compensation

Salary: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year

Education

Associate degree preferred

Experience

3 years in human resources (preferred)

Work Location

Onsite in Manassas Park, VA 20111 (Preferred)
