Job Description

AlchemyHR seeks a seasoned Human Resources Director to lead strategic and operational HR for a fast-growing, multi-state food safety sanitation organization. This onsite role in Gunter, Texas, supervises regional HRBPs and HR Coordinators while partnering with the CHRO to drive people strategy, culture, and compliance. The position carries a salary of USD 125,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor Regional HRBPs and HR Coordinators, establishing strategic direction to foster a collaborative, high-performing HR team and supporting professional development.
  • Set performance standards, conduct reviews, and advance the growth of HR staff.
  • Ensure uniform application of HR policies and standards across all regions and states.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex employee relations matters and investigations, guiding key HR decisions.
  • Identify gaps in HR capacity and capabilities; propose staffing and structural solutions to accommodate growth.
  • Coordinate and continually refine the organization-wide employee performance review process.
  • Research market trends and advise on compensation practices and performance management strategies.
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance, including coaching, counseling, career development, and termination support.
  • Partner with leadership on succession planning to identify and develop high-potential talent.
  • Collaborate with management to set clear, measurable performance goals aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Act as the cultural ambassador, promoting a positive, inclusive, and engaged workplace.
  • Investigate and resolve employee grievances promptly; guide policy application and procedures.
  • Partner with leadership to design and deliver meaningful employee recognition and rewards programs.
  • Coach managers on performance issues, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
  • Drive culture and engagement through surveys, events, development initiatives, and communication of the organization’s vision and principles.
  • Oversee benefits programs and administration, including evaluating insurance options, annual open enrollment, and ACA compliance.
  • Research and implement innovative benefits to support recruiting and retention in a high-growth environment.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between benefits brokers, insurance carriers, and employees for accurate benefits administration.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws across 20+ states; maintain policies and the employee handbook with addenda.
  • Oversee leave of absence compliance and administration; develop accurate, FLSA-compliant job descriptions for all roles.
  • Consult with outside legal counsel as needed on employment matters.
  • Oversee SMETA audit reporting, social compliance, and customer reporting requirements.
  • Identify organizational training needs and coordinate or deliver programs for employees and management.
  • Align career objectives with training initiatives to support internal mobility and evaluate training ROI.
  • Ensure HR team members maintain ongoing education and current knowledge of HR best practices and regulatory changes.
  • Develop and oversee onboarding programs to accelerate new hire integration and productivity.
  • Manage sourcing, recruiting, and interviewing for corporate and managerial vacancies; oversee offers, onboarding, and offboarding for leadership and corporate staff.
  • Collaborate on workforce planning with the CHRO and leadership to support rapid growth; refine recruiting processes and employer branding.
  • Analyze turnover data and trends; implement targeted retention strategies.
  • Oversee Paycom and other HR systems for optimization and standardization across the team.
  • Establish HR reporting standards, including workforce analytics, turnover metrics, compliance dashboards, and customer-specific reporting.
  • Leverage data and analytics to identify trends, inform leadership decisions, and drive continuous improvements in HR operations.
  • Oversee payroll garnishments and related compliance activities as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior HR management or leadership role.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification.
  • Experience supporting a distributed, hourly, multi-lingual workforce of 2000+ employees.
  • Proven track record managing HR functions across multiple states, preferably 20+.
  • Experience developing and leading HR teams.
  • Deep knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws (FLSA, ADA, FMLA, Title VII, OSHA, ACA, FCRA, etc.).
  • Experience overseeing benefits, performance management, and leave management programs.
  • Strong background in employee relations, conflict resolution, and workplace investigations.
  • Technical proficiency with HR systems, technology and AI; Paycom experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in HR reporting and employee data analytics.
  • Experience coordinating with employment counsel.
